Summer Day Camp

Thanks for an amazing summer in 2025!

A special thank you to our 2025 Summer Camp Sponsors: Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, Save A Turtle Foundation, Sons and Daughters of Italy, Key Largo Rotary Club, and private donors.

Thanks to their support, we were able to provide need-based camp scholarships to 23 Monroe County children!! These are in addition to the 14 scholarships MarineLab donated to Monroe County Science Fair winners and silent auction winners at various local events (Rotary Take Stock in Children, Good Health Clinic, Key Largo School Safety Patrol, and Marine Preservation Society. All children deserve to experience MarineLab’s summer camp and we are so grateful to our sponsors for helping to make it happen!

Itinerary

Join our day camp filled with fun in the sun, snorkeling, and science for local children that are rising 4th-8th grade students, ages 8-14. (Rising 8th, 9th, or 10th grade students can apply to be Jr Counselors for a week - see below). All days are 9 am - 4 pm

Each day includes..

  • A boat trip to snorkel the mangroves, seagrasses, or coral reef

  • Hands on science discovery labs

  • Lunch

  • Group games and activities

We also offer a Jr Counselor program and Summer Internships! 

If you have previously participated in our summer camp and would like to come back to help us out (AND enjoy another week of camp), please apply to be a Junior Counselor. Once your application has been received and accepted, you will be emailed a link to register for camp.

In the future, when hiring our paid interns, those who have acted as a Jr Counselors will be preferred applicants.

Who can apply?  Must be between ages of 14-16 and have attended at least one week of MarineLab summer camp in the past

Cost: Same as all campers.  Sibling discount will still apply

MarineLab recommends Ocean First’s TIDES program.

Some of the TIDES programs are hosted at MarineLab and include MarineLab instructor-led field trips as well as the TIDES SCUBA programs. Other programs may be available. Register directly with Ocean First.
