Registration updates for 2026

  • Registration will open up at noon on the first of the month for the Family Day event happening within that month.

  • Our outreach coordinator will still send out an email with registration and event details when it opens up. If you’d like to join this list, sign up for the “Family Day” email list on the homepage of our website.

  • We will now be charging a fee of $15 per person for all boat trips. Land based events will still require a $10 REFUNDABLE deposit per person. *please reach out to out outreach coordinator directly if either of these costs pose a financial burden

  • As always, schedules are subject to change due to weather or unforseen cirsumstances.

  • If Family Day is cancelled in advance due to weather, we will contact you via email and you will be given a full refund. Due to high demand, we are unable to transfer tickets to a future event.

We will be continuing Family Days into 2027! Check back here towards the end of the year for updates.

Bring the whole family along to any one of our upcoming Family Days! Come learn more about our local marine habitats while investigating with hands-on science and, of course, snorkeling! Activities range from interactive labs on land, to hopping on our boats and heading out to the coral reef. Either way, our marine biologist staff will be there to guide you every step of the way. Each event is a bit different so be sure to click on the links above for more details!

**sequence of events and snorkel site locations subject to change due to weather conditions

Admission: There will be a $10 REFUNDABLE deposit for all participants attending land based events. All boat trips will require a fee of $15 per participant.

**if the refundable deposit poses a financial burden for your family, please contact our Outreach Coordinator directly to register

Please consider that these are high demand events with waitlists - if you sign up and are no longer able to attend, please reach out to us at familyday@marinelab.org in advance so that another family can fill your spot!

Age: All boat trips are limited to ages 7 and up. On land events are open to all ages. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Snorkel gear: Don’t have your own? We’ve got you covered! We are happy to provide snorkel gear in any size you need.

*due to safety concerns, we do not allow full face snorkel masks on our programs. But, we are happy to provide you with one of our masks if needed! We also require use of all snorkeling equipment - mask, snorkel, fins, snorkel vest (and lifejacket if we determine it is necessary after swim evaluation).

What to bring: A swimsuit, towel, water bottle, sunscreen, and snorkel gear (if you have it!)

Sign Up: Signing up in advance is required and space is limited! Registration is a two step process. Purchase your tickets and then fill out the Medical/Waiver immediately to secure your spot. A new waiver is now required for each event, even if you have attended another Family Day within the same year.
