MarineLab can provide you with field experiences for your students or a teacher workshop for your own continuing education!
EDUCATIONAL ...MarineLab's blend of ecology discussions, hands-on investigations, and snorkeling field observations are very effective in teaching ecology concepts to students from 5th grade through college. Our programs are aligned with Florida Sunshine State Standards and we are currently working on other states' and National Science Standards alignment.
FUN...snorkeling, boat rides, seeing tropical fish and unusual creatures, and just being outdoors is tons of fun - and they get out of the classroom!
SAFE...our focus on snorkeling training, the buddy system, and our attentive and trained staff creates a very safe atmosphere for students to learn and enjoy their MarineLab experience.
Our self-contained facility is surrounded by the protected marine environments of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, Everglades National Park, and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. This location provides us easy access to the seagrass and mangrove communities and the only bank coral reef off the continental United States.
