MarineLab's coastal facility is situated on the oceanside of Key Largo, Florida, adjacent to Largo Sound and the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. The Key Largo Cut, a man-made waterway through the island, provides quick and easy access to the Florida bay portion of Everglades National Park, and east of our site is the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. We are 60 miles south of Miami International Airport and 103 miles north of Key West. Click here for directions. All programs are held on our self contained campus or in the field. Program fees include dormitory accommodations, cafeteria service, labs and equipment in addition to snorkeling field trips.

All staff members are American Red Cross certified Lifeguards and CPR/First Aid Providers. They all have extensive experience supervising students in the water, and hours of boat operating experience in addition to their Coast Guard Boating Skills & Seamanship Course. MarineLab's instructional staff is led by Jessica Pulfer, our Director of Education. She is helped by Assisant Directors Martha Loizeaux (Operations) and Sarah Egner (Curriculum). Our core staff of full time instructors is supplemented during the spring by a cadre of seasonal instructors, all of whom are hired using the same stringent criteria as for full time core staff. Meet our current staff! Behind the scenes, Senior Vice President Ginette Hughes oversees the entire MarineLab operation and the day to day activities of the parent organization, Marine Resources Development Foundation. |
